2026 Teaching as a Profession Summer Conference

2026 K-12 Teaching as a Profession Summer Conference

The K–12 Teaching as a Profession Summer Conference is a collaborative, course-specific professional learning experience designed to support educators teaching within the K–12 Teaching as a Profession pathway.

Participants will register for  ONE course (space is limited due to classroom sizes) to focus on for the full day:
Teaching as a Profession  |  Aspiring Educators  |  Principles of Educational Instruction

Teachers will spend the entire day working alongside colleagues who teach the same course. This dedicated time will be used to:
  • Develop a shared understanding of course standards
  • Collaboratively create a scope of work that can be implemented beginning the 2026–2027 school year
  • Identify, create, and share instructional resources, strategies, and best practices to support effective course delivery
This is an active working conference, not a sit-and-get experience. Teachers should come prepared to engage, collaborate, and contribute by sharing ideas, asking questions, and providing feedback that will help strengthen instruction statewide. The success of the day depends on participants being willing to both learn from others and offer their own expertise.

Whether you are new to the course or a seasoned instructor, this conference provides a valuable opportunity to collaborate with peers, align instruction, and leave with practical tools you can immediately apply in your classroom.
The presentations and materials shared during this conference do not necessarily reflect the views or positions of the Utah State Board of Education (USBE). Local Education Agencies (LEAs) are responsible for selecting instructional materials that best align with Utah Core Standards and graduation requirements, in accordance with Utah Code Annotated §53G-4-402(1)(a). The inclusion or posting of resources by USBE Education Specialists does not imply official endorsement by the Board. Educators are expected to ensure that any materials used comply with their LEA’s policies and directives.
